When I arrived at Makena today I checked in on my computer class's typing progress in the program I installed last class. Each of them had completed at least one lesson and there was obvious improvement from the previous one. One of the women insisted on putting her fingers in the correct typing position each time it was her turn to type. She was very careful to use the specific finger which corresponded with each key.
Today we abandoned Microsoft Word and moved on to Excel to start inputting their handwritten records. It's going to be a long process, but I finally feel like we're getting somewhere. They've started calling me "teacher"! It seems a little strange since they're old enough to be my grandparents, but it's nice.
