One of Stephen's trucks had gotten stuck in the mud in Garissa, near the eastern border, and he had to go out there to pick up the car and his drivers. For that reason, we ended up leaving Mombasa a little earlier than expected and drove home to Meru on Thanksgiving.
On the way we stopped at a hotel for lunch, the same one we'd stopped at on my first day in Kenya during the drive from the airport to Meru.
Alexia turned to her mom and said, "Mommy, do you want to know what Gwen has done to me in the car to make me cry?"
"Oh what was that?" said Ravena.
"Yes, please tell us" I said, having no idea what she was talking about.
She whispered something in Ravena's ear.
"What did she say?" I asked.
"She says you bit her" Ravena said, laughing.
"What?"
Stephen jumped in, "You see, the problem with Alexia is she says things which someone might think she has been told to say."
