“Wow, you guys are too smart, you finished those quickly. I’m running out of things for you to do” I told them.
I made up a new hidden message for them then taught them how to play Pictionary. They had fun drawing and guessing. One girl drew a great elephant and a boy drew a relatively accurate map of Kenya.
Once all of the classes had finished their activities, we passed out refreshments and I told them about the Reading Stars program, encouraging them to come to the library to read over their break. I hope it works, or I’m going to have to abandon the program, it’s faced enough rejection to last it a lifetime.
